The U.S. Air Force awarded Boeing a $178 million contract for 7 MH-139A helicopters and support, increasing total units under contract to 26. The MH-139A, designed for patrol, search & rescue, and troop/cargo transport, is based on Leonardo Helicopters' AW139 with custom military equipment and advanced tech. The first production aircraft is expected in December 2023, with LRIP delivery planned this summer.
