UK MP Tim Loughton detained and deported from Djibouti.
Tory MP Tim Loughton was detained and deported from Djibouti, a Chinese-allied nation in East Africa. Loughton, a senior member of the Home Affairs select committee, was sanctioned by Beijing for his criticism of China's treatment of Uighurs, Tibetans, and Hong Kongers. The Djibouti authorities detained him for over seven hours upon arrival, then barred him from entering the country and removed him on the next flight.
