Road freight body Ia Ara Aotearoa Transporting New Zealand calls for Roads of National Significance (RONs) to be at the centre of the Fast-track Approvals Bill. The Bill, at select committee stage, offers a one-stop-shop consenting process for major projects. Transporting NZ Interim Chief Executive Dom Kalasih believes RONs, with strong public mandate and aligned with the Bill's criteria, should be assessed by the Expert Panel.
