TPG Telecom and Optus sign a network sharing agreement, increasing TPG's coverage and reducing capital spending by A$1.17bn over 11 years.
Australia's TPG Telecom and Optus, owned by Singapore Telecommunications, have signed a network sharing agreement to increase TPG's coverage and cut capital spending. Under the 11-year deal, TPG will now cover 2,444 mobile network sites in regional Australia, up from 755, and gain access to Optus' regional 5G network. TPG expects to pay around A$1.17 billion over the agreement term, helping avoid operating and capital expenditure for its regional mobile network.
