A Mahila court in Tamil Nadu convicted Nirmala Devi, a former assistant professor at Devanga Arts College, for luring college girl students into performing sexual favours for senior officials at Madurai Kamaraj University. Two other accused, Murugan and Karuppasamy, were acquitted due to lack of evidence. Nirmala Devi was found guilty under provisions of the Immoral Trafficking Act and Information Technology Act, and her sentence will be announced on April 30.
