Polk County in Texas has issued a voluntary evacuation order for residents below Lake Livingston Dam and in low-lying areas along the Trinity River due to heavy rainfall and flooding. The Trinity River Authority has reportedly increased the discharge from the dam, which could worsen flooding in those areas. Rescue operations are underway in Polk and Tyler counties to help residents stranded by flooding, and all lanes on US Highway 59 through Polk County have been closed due to flooding.
