835,200 people traveled through Narita International Airport during Golden Week.

Golden Week holidays began in Japan with crowded train stations and airports as tourists resume travel amid easing COVID-19 concerns. The weak yen, however, has made overseas travel more expensive. The 11-day Golden Week period saw an estimated 835,200 people traveling through Narita International Airport, more than 1.3 times the number in 2021 but still 23% less than pre-pandemic levels in 2019.
