Maitland City Council begins $2m project to construct a new flood accessibility road for Oakhampton Heights residents, funded by the Office of Local Government and the council. The road will run parallel to the flood control line, 2.6 meters higher than the lowest point of Scobies Lane, serving as an emergency route during minor flooding. Stage one of the project is set for completion in October 2024.
