India's Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission faced a 4-second launch delay for debris collision avoidance.
India's Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission experienced a four-second delay at launch to avoid potential collisions with debris and satellites, based on the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) Collision Avoidance Analysis (COLA). The delay ensured safe passage for the Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft on its journey to the moon. ISRO conducted 23 collision avoidance maneuvers in 2023 to protect its satellites from space debris.
