COAI warns DoT about illegal sale of unapproved Wi-Fi 6E routers on e-commerce platforms in India.
The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) has warned the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) about an increase in the sale of illegal Wi-Fi 6E routers on e-commerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart in India. These devices operate on the 6 GHz frequency band, which has not yet been approved for use by the government. In a letter to DoT, COAI urged for a complete ban on the sale of Wi-Fi products operating in the 6 GHz band, both offline and online.
