Electricity distributor AusNet Services will pay $12m in customer compensation and for outage back-ups, after their online outage tracker crashed during severe storms in February, leaving 255,000 customers without power and 530,000 homes/businesses affected. The failure to provide adequate info breached Victorian energy laws. AusNet has entered a court enforceable undertaking to contribute $12m for remediation to affected customers.
