Alice Springs police receive $14.2m funding boost for community safety, after curfew due to violent brawls.

Police in Alice Springs will receive an additional $14.2 million in funding after violent brawls led to a three-week curfew. This boosts an existing $8 million partnership between the Northern Territory and federal governments, initially signed in May, which will now be extended to December 2025. Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus stated that the funding will be used to improve community safety and support young people in Alice Springs and Central Australia.
