Wollongong's beloved "people's bishop," Bishop Peter William Ingham, passed away at 83 on April 26. The fourth bishop of Wollongong and former auxiliary bishop of Sydney, he served nearly 60 years in priesthood before retiring in 2018 at 75 due to lung fibrosis. Archbishop Anthony Fisher OP called him a "humble servant of the Lord" and expressed condolences, praying for his eternal peace.
