Sarnia's police force sees unexpected shift in demographics as five of six new officers in the city's auxiliary program are women. The Sarnia auxiliary program, a first for the city, pairs trained and tested auxiliary members with police officers to perform duties such as directing traffic, community events, missing person searches, and general police work. The program is not designed for recruitment but has led to a more diverse force in Sarnia.
