India's Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) has issued fresh 'alert indicators' for capital markets, insurance firms, online payment gateway intermediaries, and crypto currency service providers. These indicators aim to enhance the monitoring of suspicious transactions as part of the country's anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing regime, following the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Financial institutions and intermediaries are obligated to submit suspicious transaction reports to the FIU for further analysis and dissemination.
