A house fire in St Helier, Jersey, required emergency services to rescue a resident from a third-floor flat. Firefighters arrived at 10:30pm on Saturday and quickly extinguished the fire, rescuing the unharmed occupant. The Jersey Fire and Rescue service used this incident to remind the public about the importance of having working, regularly tested smoke detectors in their properties.
