China's MMG Limited acquires Khoemacau copper mine in Botswana in Nov 2023 for $1.875bn, expanding reserves and production.
China Minmetals Corp's subsidiary, MMG Limited, has completed the acquisition of Khoemacau copper mine in Botswana, part of the Kalahari Copper Belt, for $1.875bn in Nov 2023. The mine, which began operations in June 2021, has 6M tonnes of copper reserves and mining rights over 4,000 sq km. This acquisition aims to strengthen MMG's ability to secure strategic resources & increase reserves and production.
