Primary schools, secondary schools, and colleges in Bangladesh are set to reopen on Sunday, April 28, after a week-long closure due to extreme heat. The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has directed schools to shorten the duration of each class and suspend outdoor activities. Pre-primary classes will remain closed until further notice. Schools operating in one shift will have classes from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., while schools operating in two shifts will have the first shift from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and the second from 9:45 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Daily school assemblies will also be suspended to avoid prolonged exposure to the heat.
