48-year-old Paul G. Mendez, a Topeka man, has been sentenced to 20.5 years in prison for 19 charges, including two counts of attempted rape, sexual intercourse without consent, and use of force. Mendez was arrested in 2021 and convicted of crimes allegedly committed between August 2019 and early 2021, involving the sexual assault of three women known to him. The Shawnee County District Attorney's Office handed down the sentence.
