U.S. Representative Bill Posey (R-FL) retired after 16 years in Congress, representing Florida's 8th congressional district since 2008. Citing "circumstances beyond my control," Posey endorsed former Florida Senate President Mike Haridopolos, a fellow Republican, to run for his seat. Haridopolos will face primary challenges in August from Republicans Joe Babits and John Hearton, as well as two Democrats.
