4,500-tonne Chinese research vessel Xiang Yang Hong 03, equipped with advanced technology, has returned to Maldives waters two months after its initial visit. The high-tech ship, managed by China's State Oceanic Administration, docked at the Thilafushi industrial island's harbor in April. Maldives' strategic location near key Indian Ocean sea lanes and its proximity to India have led to concerns about the ship's activities. The purpose of the ship's return has not been disclosed by the Maldivian government.
