Srinagar: Peoples Conference chief Sajad Lone has said that challenging the abrogation of Article 370 in the Supreme Court might have been a mistake but not doing so would have made things worse politically for mainstream parties in Jammu and Kashmir. The apex court upheld the Centre's decision to abrogate Article 370 in December 2020, which granted a special status to the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir. Lone argued that the Centre could have found someone else to take the case to the court if the mainstream parties had not intervened.
