Study suggests GHRD, or Laron syndrome, linked to reduced heart attack risk and increased longevity in mice.

A rare condition called growth hormone receptor deficiency (GHRD), also known as Laron syndrome, may reduce heart attack risk and improve cardiovascular health, according to a study. Affecting stunted growth, the condition has been linked to a 40% increase in longevity and decreased risk of age-related disorders in mice. The study, conducted by researchers from the U.S. and Ecuador, suggests that drugs causing similar effects could lower heart attack or stroke risk and potentially extend human lifespan.
