Singapore will introduce a new law this year to support gig-economy workers' retirement needs and provide work injury protection, Minister for Manpower Tan See Leng announced. The law will also offer collective representation for these workers, making Singapore one of the first countries to implement such legislation. Gig-economy workers, also known as platform workers, rely on online companies like Grab, Deliveroo, and Lalamove for income.
