Sierra Leone's Energy Minister Kanja Sesay resigns amid electricity crisis; President Bio takes direct control.

Sierra Leone's Energy Minister, Kanja Sesay, has resigned amid a persistent electricity crisis in the country. The crisis led to weeks of power cuts, with the majority of Freetown's electricity coming from a Turkish ship off the coast. Sierra Leone has made a partial payment of $18m on its $48m debt to Turkish power company Karpowership, restoring electricity supply. President Julius Maada Bio has taken direct control of the energy ministry.
