SANDAG appoints Mario Orso as CEO, starting June 17, after Hasan Ikhrata's resignation.
The San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) has appointed Mario Orso, the current chief deputy director of Caltrans District 11, as its new CEO. Orso takes over after the resignation of Hasan Ikhrata and will begin a three-year contract on June 17. SANDAG conducted a nationwide search and chose Orso due to his decades of experience, successful infrastructure project delivery, and dedication to the region.
