Madhya Pradesh's longest-serving Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, may have a significant role in national politics, as PM Modi has suggested he wants to "take him to Delhi (Centre)". Chouhan, former CM from 2005-2023, is running in the Lok Sabha polls from his stronghold Vidisha, coincidentally on the Bhopal-Delhi train route.
