Kansas City Chiefs traded up with San Francisco 49ers to select offensive tackle Kingsley Suamataia from BYU in the NFL draft.
The Kansas City Chiefs traded up with the San Francisco 49ers in the second round of the NFL draft to select offensive tackle Kingsley Suamataia from Brigham Young University. Suamataia, who started at Oregon before transferring to BYU, will compete to start at tackle alongside Jawaan Taylor in 2024, following the departure of Donovan Smith. The Chiefs currently have third-round picks Wanya Morris and Lucas Niang, but neither has established themselves as reliable starters on the offensive line. Suamataia, considered a project at tackle, may need some time to develop before playing a significant role for the Chiefs.
