Iowa Supreme Court ruled that State Auditor Rob Sand must provide more evidence to justify withholding 10 emails from public release, as the case involved a public records request by conservative legal organization Kirkwood Institute. Sand's office had claimed exemptions for whistleblowers and materials part of an audit or examination, but the court rejected these arguments for nine of the 10 emails. The case has been returned to district court for Sand's office to provide evidence for each specific email to establish it was received in the course of an audit or examination.
