Former Manatee County deputy, Timothy Downey Jr., was arrested on domestic battery charges and resigned during investigation.
Former Manatee County deputy Timothy Downey Jr. was arrested on domestic battery charges after deputies received a report of domestic violence involving him and a woman with whom he had an off-and-on relationship. Downey, who had been with the sheriff's office since July 2018, resigned during the investigation. Both an internal investigation and a criminal investigation are ongoing.
