The federal and Quebec governments are investing nearly $100 million to expand semiconductor manufacturing capacity in Canada, with the aim to create 280 jobs. The investment will be directed towards IBM Canada's semiconductor packaging facility in Bromont, Que., as well as the Bromont-based MiQro Innovation Collaborative Centre. This investment is seen as a way to boost Canada's manufacturing capabilities in technologies such as AI and quantum computing.
