Boeing acquires GKN Aerospace's St. Louis site, transferring operations and hiring its workforce for F/A-18 and F-15 jet programs.
Boeing has completed a deal with GKN Aerospace and its parent company, Melrose Industries, for the latter's St. Louis site, which supports F/A-18 and F-15 jet programs. The site's operations will now be transferred to Boeing, and the manufacturing of critical components will continue. GKN's St. Louis workforce of about 550 people have been hired by Boeing, and financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
