2-year-old orca calf, known as "Brave Little Hunter" or kʷiisaḥiʔis, was trapped for over a month in a remote Vancouver Island lagoon. After successfully navigating a sandbar during high tide, the calf swam past her mother's death site, under a bridge, and into Little Espinosa Inlet. She is now making her way towards open ocean with protective measures in place to minimize human interaction.
