TUC urges Nigeria's National Minimum Wage Committee to expedite activities, and calls for speeding up Port Harcourt refinery work.
The Trade Union Congress (TUC) of Nigeria has urged the National Minimum Wage Committee to expedite its activities, as the country's economy relies on the purchasing power of its citizens. TUC President Festus Osifo also called for speeding up work at Port Harcourt refineries to prevent fuel scarcity and further hardship for Nigerians. Despite assurances given earlier in the year by contractors and NNPC employees, the refinery has not resumed production.
