Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) currently provides 16% of Italy's gas imports and 18% in Greece, with potential capacity expansion and hydrogen transportation.

TAP AG Commercial Director Marija Savova emphasizes the Trans Adriatic Pipeline's (TAP) crucial role in EU decarbonization, as it connected the Southern Gas Corridor to Italy, Central Europe, and the Balkans. Since 2020, TAP accounted for 16% of Italy's gas imports and 18% in Greece. The pipeline's capacity can be expanded, potentially doubling its volume and enabling transportation of hydrogen and renewable gases. By 2027, Azerbaijan is expected to supply 20 billion cubic meters of gas to the EU, with TAP prepared to accept an additional 1.2 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas by 2025.
