Supreme Court to consider Delhi government's plea challenging central law on Lieutenant Governor's authority over local services.

The Supreme Court will consider listing a plea from Delhi's government, challenging the central government's law on the Lieutenant Governor's pre-eminence over local authorities in controlling services in the capital. The Delhi government claims that the matter is urgent as the administration has come to a standstill. The Supreme Court is already hearing a nine-judge bench matter regarding the interpretation of private properties under the Constitution's Directive Principles of State Policy.
