Two charter buses carrying about 85 students and teachers from Gettys Middle School in South Carolina crashed on I-85 in Gaston County, NC, during a field trip to Carowinds. The accident occurred around 9:40 a.m., with one bus veering off the road and into the woods. The driver of that bus and several students were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A lane on the interstate was closed following the crash.
