Private equity firm Thoma Bravo has agreed to buy UK cybersecurity firm Darktrace for $5.32bn in cash, the companies announced. The agreed price of $7.75 per share represents a 44% premium on Darktrace's average share price in the three months to Thursday. Darktrace, founded in 2013, is known for using artificial intelligence to scan for hacks and data leaks within IT networks.
