Saudi Arabia could have its first Miss Universe contestant this year, says the Miss Universe Organization, after a fashion model and influencer Rumy al-Qahtani claimed she had been selected. The organization is currently undergoing a rigorous vetting process for a potential candidate to be awarded the Saudi Arabia franchise, with a decision on the National Director expected soon. The next Miss Universe competition is scheduled for September in Mexico.
