Canada's federal Minister asks Air Canada to address removal of First Nations Chief's ceremonial headdress, airline apologizes and reviews policy.

Canada's federal Minister of Crown-Indigenous Relations, Gary Anandasangaree, has called for Air Canada to address an incident involving the removal of National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations, Cindy Woodhouse Nepinak's ceremonial headdress from an airplane cabin. The airline issued an apology and announced a policy review to ensure special items such as headdresses can consistently remain in the cabin with passengers.
