Former Fall River police officer Nicholas Hoar, 37, was sentenced to more than 2 years in prison for assaulting a handcuffed man with a baton and later failing to document the incident in his reports. Hoar was convicted in February 2024 of one count of deprivation of rights under color of law and two counts of false reports. His prison sentence will be followed by one year of supervised release.
