33-year-old Adam Smith was sentenced to 10 years in prison and disqualified from driving for 9 years for causing the death of Oliver Pryde in Cumbria while driving under the influence of nearly twice the legal limit of drugs. Pryde, an 18-year-old maths student, was hit by Smith's unlicensed, uninsured car on his way home from the Euro 2020 final. Smith was found guilty after a six-day trial at Leeds Crown Court.
