Mobile phone snatching is on the rise in several London boroughs, with thefts increasing by over 100% in some areas. The Metropolitan Police recorded 52,189 mobile phone thefts in 2022-2023, including robbery (10,485) and theft (41,704) from individuals. South East London boroughs such as Greenwich and Southwark have seen significant increases in phone thefts, with Southwark experiencing a 123.3% rise.
