Brothers Virves Pablo-Francisco (22) and Nicolas Pablo-Francisco (20) have pleaded guilty to kidnapping three migrants without documentation and holding them for ransom in Escondido. The U.S. Attorney's Office said they held a 16-year-old boy from Afghanistan and a father and son from Ecuador hostage in June 2023, demanding between $4,000 and $10,000 for each person's release. The abductions were discovered when the 16-year-old's family in the US was contacted by the kidnappers.
