105-year-old Oberweis Dairy files Chapter 11 bankruptcy, Dutch Farms plans to buy assets and operate post-bankruptcy.

105-year-old Oberweis Dairy, known for its bottled milk and ice cream, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in April due to increasing demand for dairy alternatives and poor capital expenditures. Family-owned Dutch Farms, based in Chicago, owner Brian Boomsma has bid to buy nearly all of Oberweis' operating assets, planning to operate and grow the business after bankruptcy. The sale is subject to court approval and expected to be finalized by late June.
