UK's annual government borrowing in March exceeded OBR forecast by £6.6bn.

The UK's annual government borrowing was higher than forecast in March, with public sector net borrowing, excluding state-controlled banks, reaching £11.94bn. This figure is £6.6bn more than the Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) predicted in March and £4.7bn less than the same month last year. The higher-than-expected borrowing could limit the scope of tax giveaways by the Chancellor ahead of the general election.
