Olympian Kristi Yamaguchi, the first Asian American to win an individual figure skating gold medal, will have a Barbie doll created in her likeness. Mattel announced the doll as part of its "Inspiring Women Series" to coincide with Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in May. The doll is based on Yamaguchi's appearance during the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville, France.
