Nigerian federal government revokes 924 dormant mining licences under "use it or lose it" policy.
The Nigerian federal government has revoked 924 dormant mining licences across exploration, mining, small-scale mining, and quarrying sectors. Minister of Solid Minerals Development Dele Alake announced the revocations, following the "use it or lose it" policy, and provided adequate notice through the official Gazette of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. The revocations aim to sanitize the country's mining sector and encourage efficient use of resources for national development.
