The National Capital Authority (NCA) has closed a part of Acton Peninsula's eastern foreshore due to asbestos discovery, with remediation works expected to last until late 2024. Historic asbestos has been identified in several locations, but air quality tests show safe results. A long-term solution is being explored via the Acton Peninsula Pedestrian Path Project, aiming to create a dedicated pathway along the shoreline.
