4.9 million Malaysians are at high risk of pre-diabetes or diabetes, with the condition accounting for almost 50% of the Ministry of Health's treatment costs. In response, the ministry is launching a Pre-diabetes Screening, Diagnosis and Management Promotion Campaign, along with collaborating with 700 community pharmacies for free capillary blood glucose testing to raise awareness and encourage early detection.
